CIHR Accessibility progress report 2024 - Year 2 Annual Report
Message from the Acting President
December 23, 2024
CIHR is pleased to share our second Accessibility Plan Progress Report, in support of the Accessible Canada Act objective to achieve a barrier-free Canada by 2040.
The report outlines the progress that CIHR has achieved in the second year (October 2023 to September 2024) of implementing the Accessibility Plan 2023-2026 and highlights key areas for continued focus. While lasting success will take time, this success is built on consistent, meaningful actions that break down barriers and strengthen our commitment to accessibility and inclusion. This includes ensuring that accessibility is integrated into all aspects of our funding programs.
Our work remains deeply rooted in consultation and engagement with employees, partners, and those with lived experience. Through ongoing dialogue, including feedback from the Employee Network for Persons with Disabilities, we are building a strong foundation for sustained accessibility improvements.
I encourage the health research community to remain informed and engaged as we continue to work together to make CIHR an accessible and inclusive organization for all.
Tammy Clifford, PhD
Acting President, Canadian Institutes of Health Research
